17 Years for Prabhas “Varsham” Movie: Throwback

Varsham (2004) got completed its glorious 17 years,  it is one of the most successful film in Prabhas and Trisha film career directed by Sobhan who died on 6th January 2008 due to cardiac arrest. Actors Trisha Krishnan, Gopichand, Prakash Raj have played key roles in the film while Chandra Mohan, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Ajay, Sunil, Suma, Sangeetha, Venu Madhav and Jaya Prakash Reddy, amongst others were seen in supporting cast. The film was produced by MS Raju.

Cast & Crew

The music of Varsham, composed by Devi Sri Prasad played a prominent role in the film success, is just a once in a life-time experience with brilliant singers like Chitra, SPB Charan, Adnan Sami, Tippu, Usha, Sumangali, Karthik, Shreya Ghoshal, Mallikarjun, Kalpana on board. Moreover, Every song of the film catchy lyrics, all Lyrics were penned by ACE Telugu lyricist Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry. The film has become a sensational Hit and later remade in Tamil as Mazhai starring Jayam Ravi and Shriya Saran, Hindi as Baaghi starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.

Movie Story

Varsham is the story of Venkat (played by Prabhas) and Shailaja (played by Trisha) who falls in love with one another in their train travel. After parting from the train, the rain unites them at all times. There’s a goon played by Macho star Gopichand who likes the same woman decides to get marry her. The cunning actions of woman’s father (Prakash Raj) lead to separation of the love birds. The film, produced by MS Raju, received wide appreciation from all across the nation for its storyline and the music!

Prabhas and Trisha pair on screen is a big Hit, This was the first time that Prabhas and Trisha were cast together. Telugu audience loved their sizzling chemistry onscreen. Each and every aspect of their romantic vibes stole our hearts, and we wish we could see more of that again! Every single moment between them was memorable.

Box Office

The movie ran very well at Box Office and it is the first Blockbuster film in Prabhas career. It ran for 50 Days In 200 Centers  and 100 Days In 79 Centers, it was the first 175 and 250 days film for Prabhas. The movie made Rs.40 Crore gross at Box Office.

Awards

Varsham received many awards and accolades during its run, including three Nandi Awards, five Filmfare Awards, seven CineMAA Awards and ten Santosham Film Awards.
