Telugu showman SS Rajamouli is not done with breaking records. After the India’s biggest success of “Baahubali”, he is back with “RRR”. The film’s theatrical rights have registered big numbers in south India, confirms the trade. It is said that the makers are eyeing on big numbers in the North India market too, as the director had already made his mark with the “Baahubali” franchise. “RRR” is scheduled to release on 13th October, 2021 in 10 Indian languages, and is being said to be one of the most expensive films ever made in India.
It is already a known fact that Rajamouli’s heavy budget action celluloid “RRR” is slated for release on 13th October. The producer, DVV Danayya is presently busy in finalizing the pre-release business of the film in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Overseas. RRR is being mounted on a massive budget of Rs 400 crores. The film has Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles. DVV Danayya is producing it. As per the latest grapevine, the non-theatrical rights including digital, satellite, audio rights of RRR have fetched in excess of Rs 200 crores (all languages).
RRR Theatrical Rights and Movie Pre Release Business
RRR is one of the costliest and also the most awaited project in Indian cinema. It will release amidst sky-high buzz and the earth-staggering theatrical business suggests the same. In order to reach out to an all-India market, Rajamouli has cast Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in “RRR”, along with Telugu stars NTR Jr. and Ram Charan. International actors Olivia Morris, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson will also be seen in pivotal roles.
The theatrical rights of Rajamouli’s RRR are valued at as much as Rs 500 crores, suggest latest reports. Apparently, the South Indian theatrical right alone are set to fetch Rs 350 crores as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana rights valued at Rs 165 crores and Rs 75 crores respectively. Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions add up to the remaining tally. The Hindi distribution rights and overseas rights are expected to fetch a total of Rs 150 crores, taking the tally to Rs 500 crores.
Telugu RRR Theatrical Rights
RRR Telugu Theatrical Rights valued at Rs. 75 crore in Nizam, Rs. 165 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Ceeded.
Tamil Theatrical Rights
The official update is that renowned production house, Lyca Productions has acquired the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of the RRR. Lyca Productions shelled out as much as Rs 48 crores for the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the RRR, suggest reports. Lyca will be releasing all language versions of RRR in Tamil Nadu apart from presenting the Tamil dubbed version. Unofficial reports claim that RRR’s theatrical rights(all languages combined) might fetch as much as Rs 500 crores.
Kannada Theatrical Rights
RRR Kannada Theatrical Rights valued at Rs. 45 crore.
Hindi RRR Theatrical Rights
The Hindi version will be dished out by Anil Thadani’s AA Films on commission basis. The widespread expectation from the Hindi dubbed version is high too, so the rights will be valued approximately Rs 100 crore.
Overseas Rights
The overseas distribution rights for RRR sold out for a huge price. RRR’s overseas rights have been sold to Phars Films for a whopping amount of Rs.65 crore. Before the release of the film, the estimated revenue for the producers is over Rs 500 crore from the sale of worldwide theatrical rights only.
RRR Digital Streaming Rights
Apparently, Disney Hotstar has paid a whopping amount for the satellite and digital rights of the Rajamouli directorial. Post its release, RRR will be made available for digital streaming on Disney Hotstar and will be telecasted on Star TV channels. This is one of the biggest ever non-theatrical business recorded by any Indian film and speaks volumes about the buzz and anticipation around the project. As per the latest reports, the satellite and digital rights of the film got sold for a whopping amount of Rs 200 crores including all the Indian languages
Baahubali filmmaker SS Rajamouli recently shot the climax of much awaited RRR, and now confirms the release date of mega-starrer historic drama. Produced by DVV Danayya, this SS Rajamouli directorial is set in the pre-independence era of 1920 and tells the fictional tale of Indian revolutionaries. RRR will see Jr NTR and Ram Charan playing the roles of two legendary freedom fighters –Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
