With the tremendous response to the sequel of Malayalam original Drishyam (2013) after its direct release on Amazon Prime Video, the director Jeethu Joseph has begun work on remaking it into other languages. The remake film will first to go on floors with the Telugu version. As we all know Venkatesh has already did the remake of part 1 and has seen a success in 2014.
The Telugu remake of Malayalam movie Drishyam 2 is all set to go on floors in March. While actor Venkatesh Daggubati will return to play the lead, it will be directed by Jeethu Joseph, who also helmed the original Malayalam version. The first part of the Telugu remake, which released in 2014, was directed by Supriya. It also starred Meena and Nadhiya. The makers are yet to reveal complete details of the cast and crew of Drishyam 2.
Venky has already done with the shooting of Asuran Telugu remake “Narappa” and now he is busy with F2 Sequel F3, which is scheduled for August 27 release. Unlike the Malayalam version, the Telugu remakes will have a proper theatrical release. The theatres have resumed screening in Andhra and Telangana and already registered two blockbuster movies Krack and Uppena at Box Office.
Malayalam movie Drishyam 2 had a direct Amazon Prime Video release on February 19, and is, so far getting a lot of critical acclaim.
